I was surprised and very pleased the day my six year old came home talking about her amygdala and how breathing helps her calm down. MindUp, a Hawn Foundation initiative, has taken off in Vancouver (and many parts of North America).  School aged children are learning to focus on their breath, calm their minds, and to be mindful – present.

I was first introduced to MindUp through Seymour Elementary‘s wonderful and vivacious primary teacher Janice Parry.
